Live Accounts
I am a U.S Resident , can I open an account with you?
No, you cannot. We do not accept U.S residents.
How long does it take to open a Live Account?
Approval time depends on how quickly the required documents were submitted. If all required documentation was submitted along with your application your account could be approved in 1 business day or less.
What Identification Documents do you require?
In order to activate your live account, you must provide your Photo ID and Proof of Residence. These documents can be directly uploaded at the time of your online application or sent via email: accounts@thinkforex.com or send it via fax number NZ:+64 (0) 9 -353 - 1409.

What is the Minimum Funding Requirement to Open an Account?
A minimum deposit of 500 units of account currency is required to open your live account. Accounts may be funded by Bank Wire Transfer and also all Major Credit Cards.
Can I open more than one account?
You can open up to four additional accounts under the same name. If you require more than four accounts please contact us at support@thinkforex.com for additional information.
How do I log into my live account?
To log into your live account, please follow the instructions below.
  1. Select File from the MT4 menu
  2. Choose Login
  3. Enter you login number (this is your ThinkForex live account number)
  4. Enter your password
  5. Change the server field to ThinkForex-Live
  6. Click Login
Can I access my live account from a different computer?
You can access your MT4 account from any PC you install the ThinkForex MT4 platform on. You will need your live account access information to log in. If you need to access your live account from many different computers you can also request Access to our VPS hosting service. For more information on VPS hosting Click Here.

Is there any difference between the demo account and live account?
There is no difference in our demo account and our live account. You can expect the same spreads, speed and execution when trading live.

What are your spreads?

Do you charge commissions?
No. ThinkForex does not charge commissions.
What leverage do you offer?
200:1 is the maximum available leverage.
Do you have a dealing desk?
No. ThinkForex is a NDD (No Dealing Desk) broker.
What is your GMT offset?
Our GMT offset is 0 (zero)
Can I change the time display on my MT4?
No you cannot change the time display on your MT4 platform.
Do you allow Expert Advisors?
ThinkForex allows all MT4 compatible Expert Advisors.
Do you allow scalping?
ThinkForex welcomes scalping. Our industry leading speed and execution provide enhanced performance for scalpers.
What is the minimum contract size?

Can I place trailing stops?
Trailing stops can be applied directly from your MT4 platform. Please note your MT4 platform must be open and logged in for yout trailing stop to correctly manage any posision.
Do you allow hedging?
Yes you can partially close orders.
Can I trade 24/7?
You can trade Forex with ThinkForex 24 hours a day from Sunday 5PM EST to Friday 4PM EST

Deposits and Withdrawals
What funding methods do you offer?
You can fund your account with Credit/Debit Cards, Bank Wire, or our other payment partners. Please review our funding page for complete details.
Can I use PayPal, Liberty Reserve, etc?
At this time these payment options are not available.
How soon will my funds post to my account?
Credit/Debit card deposits will post within 12-24 hours. Bank wires can take up to two business days to post to your account.

Please ensure you deposit funds in the same base currency as your MT4 account. A 3% conversion fee will apply if you request to have your funds converted to another currency. This process requires manual review and may take 1-2 business days for your funds to post

How can I withdraw funds?
How long does the withdrawal process take?
Processing times vary depending on withdrawal method. ThinkForex expedites every withdrawal request and keeps our clients informed during the withdrawal process. Please allow 3-4 business days for Bank Wire transactions and up to 7 business days for funds to post back to most Credit/Debit cards.
Are there any funding/withdrawal fees?
Funding fees vary depending on your funding method (2% or less). For complete details please login to the live client portal. There is a standard 35 unit fee of your selected account currency for Bank Wire withdrawals and a 15 unit fee for Credit/Debit card withdrawals and payment/wallet partners. Please review the withdrawal form instructions for complete details.
What currencies can I fund my account with?
You can fund you account with USD, GBP, EUR, JPY, CAD, AUD, NZD, CHF and AED
What is a VPS?
A VPS or Virtual Private Server allows you to log onto a separate server from your desktop that is solely devoted to your Metatrader4 account. A VPS is like a mini virtual computer system that has its own hard disk space and RAM. You can access your VPS from most windows based PC's.
Do I need a VPS?
You need VPS access if:
  • You use an EA (robot) that requires 24 hour access to the market with no interruptions
  • You only have access to wireless internet or have unreliable internet service
  • You travel allot and do not always have access to your home computer or laptop

Are there any special requirements to access the VPS service?

Expert Advisors / Forex Robots
Can I use Expert Advisors/Forex Robots?
Yes you can use Expert Advisors with the MetaTrader 4 trading platform. We have no limitations on EA's or any Forex Robots. We welcome all types of trading strategies!
Can I hedge open short & long trades of the same pair simultaneously?
Yes you can absolutely hedge long and short positions without any additional margin requirements.
Is there any time limit on an opened positions for mini and standard accounts?
There is no time limit on opened positions. When a position is held past the close of the forex day (22:00 GMT), however, the position is automatically rolled-over to the next available spot settlement date. Since all trades transacted as non-deliverable (there is no actual physical transfer of the notional currency amounts), all open positions.
